What has Columbia Heights government done in recent years to improve home ownership?

The city feels like a very small town to long time residents.  People enjoy top notch libraries, great dining and businesses.  The access to the outdoors is fulfulled with 15 well maintained parks.

Those who call it home participate in many aspects of the town.

The government recently put in place a Time of Sale inspection for sellers.  This includes a compliant video of the sewer to ensure it is working.  Safety and usability are both necessary in homes that were perhaps built in the early 1900's.  With an established neighborhood the proximity to NE Mpls and downtown are convenient.  There are also manture trees on most blocks.  Proximity to the multi-cultural dining along Central Avenue is enjoyed by residents and those who travel for a great meal.

When contemplating a new home it is nice to know that the city offers low interest grants for home improvement.

The median sale price of a Columbia Heights home in July 2025 was $300,000, up 5% from 2024 for a Rolling 12 months.  Days on market have been longer up to 36 on average vs 28 in 2024.
